Techs-Only Forum Rules

Be Polite. Though the Techs-only Forum will not be visible to search engines or any who are not authorized users we can be more direct but also civil here.

Be Specific. Please provide as much specificity as possible to your question, problem, or idea. Machine Brand, Model, age, recent events/activity, is it computerized, thread type in top and bobbin, and items you have already checked are all very helpful. Pictures or links to videos are also very useful - note that the site platform SquareSpace does not host videos directly – if you have a video best option is to create free YouTube account and post a link on this forum. If you don’t want video visible on YouTube, you can flag it as Unlisted. If you don’t want to fool with YouTube but have a useful video, message me and we will be happy to host it on the sister Longarm-Tech YouTube site and link it to the Forum.

State any problems factually without negativity to retailers, manufacturers, or others. We can be a little more open on the Techs-only site than on the open Forum – one of the goals for this Forum is to develop information that documents valid design, quality, service, and support issues to help make the longarm manufacturing companies better. A key area for this will be repair call reports – which will be able to help you the longarm tech to learn a fix someone else has already performed, have info for repair and troubleshooting available 24 hours a day, and over time will build data so things the manufacturers don’t know about like certain serial numbers have similar problems. Please note the tech/s you speak with when you call tech support and note if they have particular skills with particular issues. Remember – each month every submitted trouble call writeup goes in a raffle for a $100 Visa gift card!

Pictures/Videos are encouraged – particularly if they are common or noteworthy issues. Please be advised if the topic is useful for the general forum it may be edited and reposted there.

NO ADVERTISING – but….we all want to see the tools and widgets you use to help troubleshoot and repair machines. Links to sites where they can be purchased are A-OK.

If the rules are violated your will be gently admonished by the administrator or one of the moderators. If you repeatedly violate you risk being removed from the Forum.
